This is my laundry pile.

Actually, it’s one of my piles of clean clothes, waiting to be sorted and folded and put away. Funnily enough, there’s also a similarly sized pile of dirty laundry waiting to be washed, hung out, brought in, sorted, folded and put away. Then there’s the vacuuming, the dishes, the general cleaning and the resisting of the powerful urge to curl up under my doona and rock back and forth while muttering The horror! The horror!

Acknowledged: I suck at housekeeping.
Corollary: I suck at regular blogging.
Result: I am just going outside and may be some time.

I've found that if you hold off on the laundry long enough, the clothes won't fit or will be out of style, thereby saving much time.

Good tip, Jan, but I think leaving clothes out must have driven my house elves away - the rest of the housework just isn't getting done anymore :(

My piles of unsorted laundry hang round like yours pictured, then eventually become outdated, and I pop them straight into the St Vinnies bag, so didn't have to sort them in the end anyway!
My logic is that if I/we went without them for that amount of time, I/we obviously didn't need them!

Sadly, Rita, that's only about two days worth of my children's clothes...that is what happens when I choose eating/sleeping/bathing over folding :(

I have 3 baskets waiting to be folded right now. I am thinking of putting it all in the compost and wearing garbage bags for the rest of my life.
